This exquisite black tea from Assam was carefully hand-plucked and masterfully processed on Tonganagoan Estate, a low-lying, organic garden on the banks of northeastern India’s Brahmaputra River. The leaf has an abundance of golden tips. The liquor displays a yellow ring around the cup, signifying high levels of theaflavin, the compound in the tea leaf associated with flavor and health properties. The cup has layers of flavor notes ranging from plum and blackcurrant to caramel, malt, cacao and sandalwood.
Black tea leaves from Assam
Steep 2 teaspoons (4g) of Assam SFTGFOP in 1 cup (8oz) of 205° F water for 4 minutes and strain. Makes 1-2 infusions. For 205° F water, boil then let cool 1 minute.
