Kula Project

We donate one percent of all sales to support women, health and education through 1% for the Planet, an organization committed to global sustainability. Currently, our sales support Kula Project in Rwanda.

Kula exists to eradicate poverty through the development of entrepreneurs in Rwanda's coffee communities.

700 million people live in extreme poverty- most are farmers.
In Rwanda, 52% of the population lives in poverty, including the majority of its 450,000 coffee farmers. Female coffee farmers face a disproportionate amount of challenges within the sector.

Kula’s 12-month poverty graduation model is designed to empower and equip farming families to move out of extreme poverty through:

Regenerative Agronomy Training

Household Entrepreneurship Training

Personal Coaching

Rwanda + Firepot

Rwanda has always played a huge role in Firepot’s journey.

The black tea we use in our products, especially our Masala Chai, are from Rwanda SORWATHE farms. Our team visited Rwanda in 2019 to meet with farmers and our friends at The Akilah Institute for Women.  Today, we are honored and thrilled to support Kula Project through One Percent for the Planet.
