Sometimes I forget how delicious our Amai ("Amai" means sweet in Japan) Matcha is with all of the Ceremonial Matcha recipe development I do, but it is perfect in this recipe. We are finding the sweet and tangy strawberries to be a perfect accouterment to our umami-rich Matcha. It’s summertime in a glass!
And it’s such an easy recipe to make at home. Simply muddle a cup of fresh strawberries by slightly mashing them with a fork. Add ice, layer in your favorite milk, top with dissolved Amai Matcha, and voila!
After a morning strolling the local farmers market for a basket of the freshest and ripest June strawberries you can find, slicing them into an iced matcha latte is the perfect celebration of health, happiness, and summertime fun. This is the sweetest and most beautiful iced tea, perfect for decadent refreshment during a hot afternoon at the pool, or as a fresh summertime dessert to cap off a barbecue with friends and family. Regardless of when you serve it, it’s yet another way to savor the rich flexibility of matcha!
Experiment with different types of milk to find the flavor profile you like the best. Whole milk, almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk all add their own unique personality to the overall taste.
Our favorite is the classic strawberry, but be free to swap them out for peaches or even pineapple! The sweetened matcha powder blends well with tart fruits for a summertime match made in heaven.
Regardless of how you mix it, the iced strawberry matcha latte shakes out to be a healthful gift for your body, mind, and soul. So when you want to serve something that’s slightly indulgent, reach for matcha green tea, fresh strawberries, and milk.
